Overall Purpose:

Assist the Financial Accounts department. Ensuring the accounts accurately reflect the assets and liabilities of the business, adhering to all divisional and corporate policies. To ensure all SOX and reporting deadlines both internal and external are met in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the Daily Banking and update the cashbooks 
  • Complete Financial Reporting including daily sales, Allocations and advances 
  • Oversee the Sarbanes Oxley testing process 
  • Complete Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (payroll and banking) 
  • To take the role of Power User on EPM6 and complete the final reconciliation 
  • Assist in the management of the Accounts Receivable ledger, calculating overdue balances and Bad Debt Provisions. 
  • To review the sales order approvals
  • Upload new CARs to eCAR
  • Complete CAR Completions on eCAR
  • Upload fixed asset disposals to eCAR
  • To oversee the Fixed Asset Cycle Counts to ensure they are completed at both sites. Complete the quarterly 414 SOX Control 
  • To complete the monthly shipping reconciliations and the Sales to AR reconciliation 
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety 
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Accounting Manager 

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree or expected degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline 

Technical Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail 
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and terminology 
  • Competent IT Skills, with proven experience of working with Microsoft Excel 

Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced finance or accounts department through a work-based placement is advantageous
