Where will you be working?

At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will join BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions. 

You will be will be working as part of a collaborative team to aid LV Design Engineers/Senior LV Engineers to carry out LV Assembly designs for various Low Voltage Switchboards, Motor Control Centre’s (MCCs), Local Control Panels and Instrumentation Control and Automation Systems. The role involves visits to client sites throughout the UK to carry out design solutions for asset modifications on existing electrical systems, including LV Assembly modifications, PLC system upgrades and wiring migrations.

As a Graduate LV Design Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Support LV Design Engineers, working under the guidance of Senior LV Design Engineers and the LV Technical Manager, across a range of design and engineering activities.
  • Interpret client engineering drawings and specifications, transforming them into detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts and general arrangement drawings, ensuring all designs meet safety requirements, quality standards, engineering best practice and client specifications
  • Contribute to the design of hardware systems for LV assemblies, working with components such as ACBs, fuse switches, MCCBs, MCBs, fuses, control transformers, power supplies, control relays, timers, VSDs, PLCs and ICA systems for control‑gear and switchgear.
  • Prepare test and inspection documentation, conformity certificates and other design-related records required to ensure LV assemblies are manufactured in line with BS EN 61439 standards.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 design quality procedures throughout all design and documentation activities.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with client representatives, production teams and the wider design team.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and workshop personnel to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Complete task-specific health and safety documentation when attending client sites.

What you'll bring

  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • A highly motivated individual with strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A full UK/EU driving licence
  • Experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and EPLAN). (Desirable but not essential).
