Where will you be working?
At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will join BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
We have the exciting opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Estimator to join BGEN’s Technology Team in Penketh (Warrington). This team designs control panels for clients worldwide in industries such as Utilities, Electrical Transmission and Distribution, Renewable Generation, Petrochemical, Nuclear etc.
As a Graduate Electrical Estimator, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Participate in a structured development programme with placements across key departments (production, hardware, and software engineering teams).
Assist in preparing basic cost estimates and proposal documents under supervision.
Familiarise and observe bid strategy discussions to build commercial awareness.
Identify missing information or potential scope gaps in tender documents.
Shadow Engineers and Senior staff in live tender activities and client interactions.
Engage in technical training and mentoring to understand control systems, software, and LV assemblies.
Support simple document formatting, supplier quote requests, or template reviews as part of bid activity.
Support review of tender documents to identify scope, technical requirements, and risks.
Participate in site visits and factory tours to understand BGEN’s delivery and production capabilities.
Contribute to team initiatives such as lessons learned or process improvement exercises.
Gradually build responsibility and autonomy as knowledge and confidence grow.
Help compare client specs to internal scope assumptions to develop awareness of scope gaps and alignment.
