Software Engineering Internship

Computer Science, Software, IT.

We tackle the most complex problems in quantitative finance, by bringing scientific clarity to financial complexity. From our London HQ, we unite world-class researchers and engineers in an environment that values deep exploration and methodical execution - because the best ideas take time to evolve.  Together we’re building a world-class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.

We are G-Research
We are a leading quantitative research and technology firm.

As part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high-impact research - designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.

Take the next step in your career.

The role

  • Dates: 28th June 2027 - 17th September 2027
  • Working hours: 09:00 - 17:30

We are looking for exceptional students to join us for a 12-week summer internship within our world-class technology teams.

These functions are central to our engineering efforts. As an intern you will work across a range of platforms that support our quantitative research. You will contribute to the development, enhancement and modernisation of the systems that underpin our business, gaining valuable experience with both legacy and cutting-edge technologies.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will write production-level code, collaborate with experienced software engineers and contribute to high-impact projects from day one.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Designing and delivering high-quality, maintainable code to work with large and complex datasets
  • Supporting and evolving production platforms and research tools
  • Partnering with quantitative researchers to understand and improve data quality and value
  • Developing and optimising database queries and the underlying infrastructure
  • Enhancing internal tools and data processing pipelines used at scale

As part of your internship, you will receive a structured onboarding experience and be paired with a dedicated mentor. Your mentor will be an experienced engineer who will guide your learning and development.

In addition to on-the-job training, you will gain access to internal technical and professional development courses, alongside opportunities to increase your financial domain knowledge.
