Joshua always wanted a technical job that would bring him close to the ocean. Now, as a Wind Turbine Technician apprentice at RWE Offshore Wind, he shares his experiences in this interview.

Why did you decide to do your apprenticeship with RWE Offshore?

I wanted a job full of action that combines technology with my love for the sea.

How often do you see your family?

In Kiel, I can go home almost every weekend. On Helgoland, it’s different – I usually travel home about every two weeks.

What do you like most about the apprenticeship so far?

I haven’t been offshore very often yet, but I’m really looking forward to experiencing the action and the vastness of the sea. That’s something you can only find in this profession.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

If you love the sea and are interested in technology, this apprenticeship is perfect for you. It’s the ideal combination of both.
