What you'll be doing:

  • Managing and monitoring product field replaced parts in support of ongoing root cause and technical investigation cases.
  • Assististing PQR engineering in product quality and reliability reporting utilising real world product reliability data (warranty, service, spares). Including reliability data analytics, identification of opportunities to improve product quality with a measurable impact upon released product reliability metrics.
  • Cross functional support (service, manufacturing, R&D) in identification, prioritisation and monitoring of product reliability improvement activities.
  • Involvement in other key Group Quality projects.

Key tasks 

Support the Product Quality & Reliability Engineering function to deliver the following:

  • Ongoing development and evolution of the Product Quality & Reliability approach focused upon improved product reliability, maintainability and availability. Goal is to reduce life-cycle cost and improve customer satisfaction (relating to product reliability).
  • Maintain Product Quality & Reliability reporting framework with inclusion of new data sets as progress of global systems rollout makes them available.
  • Alignment with global teams in Service, Technical Support Group, Development and multi-disciplined post design Product Support Groups (Purchasing, Supply Quality, R&D, etc.).
  • Data analytics of primary (warranty, ServiceMAx, spares) and secondary data sets to resolve current, and reduce potential impact of future, product reliability issues.
  • Utilise reporting and data analytics to answer two key questions of ‘what will fail?’ and ‘when will it fail?’
  • Assessment of impact upon the business in terms of cost and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and agree product (printer and component) reliability targets (PRS) against agreed customer expectations (MRS).
  • Support identification of reliability gaps to ensure new products meet or exceed agreed expectations.

Education & Experience

  • Working towards completion of a Degree in engineering or science.
  • Appreciation of technical product quality/reliability role.

Skills 

  • Use of standard MS office applications, mainly Word and Excel
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Fact based approach with an analytical mind set
  • Understanding of statistical analysis/modelling principles
  • Familiarity with database structures and data modelling an advantage.

  • Ability to use own initiative and work with limited instruction once training has been given
  • Methodical and thorough with a strong attention to detail
  • Scientific curiosity and a willingness to learn
