We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate R&D Design Engineer with a background in STEM subjects to join our innovative and fast-growing team. This role is perfect for a motivated and hardworking graduate looking to embark on a successful and rewarding career in one of the UK's leading packaging companies.

As a Graduate R&D Design Engineer, you will join a highly experienced team, working on multiple projects across diverse sectors such as aerospace, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and logistics. Your primary role will be to collaborate with our sales teams to develop innovative solutions from design briefs, concepts, and customer efficiency assessments through to completion. This will involve regular interaction with the sales, technical sales, commercial, and logistics teams within Kite.

The role of Graduate RD Design Engineer:

This role will specifically cover the following areas:

  • Develop CAD drawings and convey information to both customers and suppliers in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Work on bespoke solutions using different materials and production processes.
  • Participate in training to build upon existing skills and gain new expertise.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop designs using materials such as corrugate, foam, timber, steel, plastics, conveyance, and robotics.

Key Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree in Design Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Strong academic background with a minimum ABB at A-level.
  • Proficiency with design package and SolidWorks experience advantageous.
  • Ability to work to a brief within tight timescales.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
  • Entrepreneurial drive.
  • Clean driving license.

What you’ll get:

  • Basic Salary: £30k including car allowance £8.4k + bonus
  • Monday-Friday – 08:30am-17:30pm
  • 22 days' holiday per year rising by 1 each year to 25, including an option to buy or sell a maximum of 3 days, plus statutory holidays.
  • After 6 months a range of benefits: life insurance, pension, cycle to work scheme and an optional healthcare scheme
  • The option to become a shareholder in the business after 6 months employment
