Arklow Wastewater Treatment PlantThis project includes the demolition of the disused wallboard factory and the construction of a wastewater treatment facility, with all attendant buildings, utilities, and the outfall for treated water to sea. The interceptor sewers run along the north and south quays of the Avoca River including a section crossing under the river. The works are in a built-up area, requiring a significant interface with utility providers and stakeholders, as well as the general public. |

Kingsbury Run Culvert Repair ClevelandThe project involves tie-ins to existing storm systems at both the East and West ends of the alignment. The relining of the brick culvert was completed with a “Channel Line” pipe system, under flow. Located in an environmentally sensitive area due to construction within contaminated ground, this project had mixed conditions of medium-stiff clay’s, sands, silts and fill containing timber, tires, waste automotive parts & steel slag. |

River Feagle (Clonakilty) Certified Drainage SchemeWard & Burke was appointed as Main Contractor and PSCS to this project. The River Feagle and Clonakilty Bay were identified as a Special Protected Area (SPA) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a designated salmonid river. Works comprised of two main elements: a flood storage area, upstream of the town, to protect against fluvial flooding; and new piled/RC flood defence walls through Clonakilty, amidst narrow streets, numerous listed and protected and ‘at risk’ structures with multiple difficult access points. |

Regeneron Effluent Treatment PlantFollowing the establishment of a new bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing facility by Regeneron Ireland in County Limerick, Ward & Burke delivered a turnkey solution including all civil, process and MEICA works or the effluent treatment plant. This was in order to balance, preliminary treat and control the discharge of effluent to the municipal sewers. |

Letterkenny Wastewater Treatment Works and Sludge Treatment CentreWard & Burke completed the design, construction and commissioning of a new 80,000PE WwTW comprising inlet works, primary settlement, activated sludge reactors, final clarifiers and UV disinfection unit. The contract provided for a new influent main pumping station and a final effluent pumping station with rising man and outfall to the estuarine reach of Lough Swilly, including a facility for treatment of solid waste leachate and a sludge treatment centre. |

Ince Park Biomass Power Resources Recovery CentreWard & Burke were responsible for the design and build civils works for Ince Park Biomass Power Resource Recovery Centre (20MW Plant), located in Cheshire on a previously undeveloped site. Completion of further site investigation allowed for detailed design of the piling matt and piled foundations. |
