Hear from our Graduates

At Kent, our Graduate Programme is designed to turn ambition into real-world impact. From day one, our graduates are trusted with meaningful work, supported by experienced mentors, and given the opportunity to grow both technically and personally while contributing to projects that shape the future of energy.

Caleb McCarthy

Caleb, Process Engineer

Graduates like Caleb joined Kent straight from university, looking for a place to make a difference. Through a clear, structured pathway, dedicated mentoring, and access to technical training, he became a valued member of the team from the outset. Over three years, he worked on global projects, travelled both domestically and internationally, took on leadership roles within the graduate community, and built the confidence and skills needed for a purposeful career ahead.

Nasim Sedaghat

Nasim, Graduate Technical Safety Engineer

For Nasim, who joined Kent after completing a PhD in mechanical engineering, the programme quickly moved from learning to ownership. By her second year, she was applying her technical foundation to real project challenges, contributing in design reviews, and seeing her ideas reflected in final solutions. Alongside project work, Kent’s commitment to development stood out through Chartership support, continuous learning opportunities, and the chance to mentor newer graduates.

Lewis, Process Engineer

With the Kent graduate scheme Lewis had the chance to work on a diverse range of projects from across the globe and helping to deliver the energy transition in a responsible and practical way. After learning on both internal and external training courses, Lewis went to Dubai for a global graduate event. There he participated in workshops on continuous improvement and discussions on decarbonisation and AI with senior leadership, as well as theme park visits and even morning yoga! He described the trip as “a truly unforgettable experience.”

William McLean

William, Graduate Mechanical Engineer

William’s experience highlights the breadth of exposure the programme offers. Over three years, he moved from office-based design work to on-site delivery on a major future fuels project. Seeing the difference between how systems are designed and how they are built gave him a deeper understanding of engineering in practice and helped shape his long-term career direction.

Julia, Structural Engineer

After completing the graduate programme, Julia also attended the global graduation event in Dubai. Getting the chance to hear from graduates across the globe on the projects and work they were involved in help to broaden her understanding of Kent’s services. The event allowed for merging of perspectives across countries, sectors and seniority levels, paving the way for more understanding and opening avenues for new ways of working, with Julia finding it to be a ‘invaluable experience.’

Across disciplines and locations, our graduates share one thing in common: they are supported, challenged, and trusted to grow. Kent’s Graduate Programme is about becoming someone who’s ready to make an impact, today and into the future.
