FAQs

Will you support my formal academic and professional development?
  • It varies depending on the programme. We help every graduate we recruit to achieve recognised qualifications, and some will lead to a professional accreditation.
I’m thinking of taking a year out after university. Can I delay my start with you?
  • No, we’re unable to consider a deferral of a year.
If I don’t have a 2:1, can I still apply?
  • Unfortunately not. Our minimum requirement is a 2:1 or equivalent.
Do you take non-engineers on the graduate engineering programmes?
  • Yes, we accept applications from varied backgrounds, including graduates from mathematics, physics and other scientific disciplines.
Can I make more than one application?
  • You can only make one application in the UK (and in Germany and Singapore) during our recruitment cycle. So it’s very important to choose carefully. However, if we feel there is a more suitable programme we will advise you of this during the application process. The only exception is the US, where we will accept applications to more than one programme.
Will I get feedback on how well I’ve performed?
  • We provide feedback on an individual basis after your assessment day.

What’s the closing date for applications?
  • Please refer to your chosen programme for confirmed closing dates. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you apply sooner rather than later. We work on a first come, first served basis so don’t miss out!
I’m not an EU national – will you help me obtain permission to work in the UK?
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in the UK. During the recruitment process all candidates are required to prove they have this right with suitable documentation.
  • In the absence of any candidate from outside the EEA possessing the immigration status which allows them to live and work in the UK, we’ll consider using our A rated sponsorship licence to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship under Tier 2 of the Points Based System. Sponsorship of a visa is subject to all the appropriate criteria specified by UK Visas & Immigration being satisfied. We can’t offer any guarantee that such an application will be successful.
If I need to relocate, what assistance will you provide?
  • In the UK we offer information and guidance on local accommodation, and if you’re a summer intern we’ll usually make arrangements with the local college or university for reasonably priced short-term accommodation.
If I’m successful in being offered a role, can I choose where I’m based?
  • No. Our requirement is that you need to be UK mobile for the duration of your programme.
