My placement at Ecolutia outlined to me the nature of being a part of a team of engineers all working towards real life challenges, it taught me the importance of every member in a company and how it is to have real responsibility.
I used 2D CAD drafting software (Draftsight) primarily for PID and PFD work, I also used Microsoft office tools to organise and optimise data.
My manager was always my first source of support, he is very knowledgeable and due to his experience was always ready to point me in the right direction still challenging me to find the right answers. My senior coworkers from engineering and from out are all experienced and knowledgeable in their positions and are always enthusiastic to help you understand their job and processes.
I delivered the PID and helped commission a wastewater area, and I contributed meaningful progress to the commissioning of a new regeneration plant. I also drafted PIDs/PFDs for customer sites which directly produces revenue.
Anyone who is ready to test themselves and are eager to create real progress from day one. It is also very important to be a team player.
I recommend Ecolutia to students who want the full engineering experience which includes the technical and business aspects of the industry. You will grow exponentially as a professional here and gain lasting experience for wherever you go when you graduate.
