Joshua has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. Joshua’s focus at Blake Clough is on grid consulting and integration of renewable generation into the networks, whilst leveraging his broad range of skills to provide an excellent service to our clients.
He has gained extensive experience in assessing distribution and transmission connection offers swiftly identifying major risks and potential sources of saving. Josh has managed and supported on a range of larger scale feasibility assessments and due diligence reports. His clear and actionable summaries help clients cut through complexity, identify key risks, and determine the next steps to support the successful delivery of their portfolios.
Joshua ensures he remains abreast of industry shifts, with his recent focus being NESO’s upcoming queue reforms, Joshua prepared Blake Clough Consulting’s response to the CP2030 consultation in November, providing insights into its potential impact on clients and the sector. Additionally, Joshua has run workshops on TMO4+ and CP2030, both as internal training and externally to clients, designed to share learnings and prepare others for the potential impact of these reforms and the support Blake Clough Consulting can provide.
Joshua holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Aberystwyth University, and an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University. Prior to completing his MSc, Joshua trained as a teacher but ultimately decided to pursue a career in the energy sector and tackle the challenges of a net-zero grid. Joshua’s MSc program has given him experience in the analysis and modelling of wind and solar systems, the regulatory hurdles in power generation and the opportunities posed by the transition to net-zero.
In his spare time, Joshua enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking.
