Vilhjálmur has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Vilhjálmur has been working on G99 compliance studies for BESS looking to connect to distribution networks, and demand capacity scouting for strategic placement of large loads for the GB transmission network.
Vilhjálmur holds a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iceland and a MSc with Distinction in Future Power Networks from Imperial College London. At Imperial he focused on the integration of technologies to decarbonise the electric power sector
Vilhjálmur‘s MSc research project was aimed at investigating black start strategies for offshore wind power plants. This gave him valuable knowledge in modelling of offshore wind power plants, grid forming control, wind turbine technologies, and restoration strategies. Prior to his studies at Imperial College London he worked at EFLA Consulting Engineers, where he focused on transmission planning, power system analysis, and energy consulting.
Outside of work, Vilhjálmur enjoys playing football, golf, and padel.
