Career Pathways

There are more than 900 different job roles across the NDA group in total, with graduate positions in a number of disciplines, so there’s bound to be something that interests you.

When you join us, you’re not just joining one company. We’re a group working together to deliver a shared mission. With the ability to move between different parts of our group, both during the graduate programme and throughout your career, there’s so many possibilities available.

Cyber security and digital

Help us to implement our new digital strategy, digitalising business processes and changing the way we work, getting to know the latest state of the art technologies, supporting the deployment of new technologies and helping to deliver Government funded contracts. Or become a cyber graduate, working with sector experts to develop your understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls and mitigation measures.

Business and commercial

Commercial graduates will have the opportunity to undertake a number of placements over two years covering areas such as commercial strategy and policy development, understanding sourcing needs and delivery options, buying goods and services (procurement), contract and supplier management as well as revenue generation (business development). You’ll also have the opportunity to study for a prestigious Chartership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

Project management and project controls

You will be at the forefront of a wide range of projects across the NDA group. We’re managing projects of all shapes and sizes, including many Government Major Projects. Our projects could cover design, construction, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition, which could see you help to build new radioactive waste disposal facilities or take apart a redundant nuclear reactor.

Engineering, science, technology and innovation

Across our engineering and science disciplines, you’ll work with industry experts to identify and solve problems, develop new technologies, produce analyses to support innovation and improve current practice. Joining our technology and innovation teams, you’ll reimagine, transform and improve the way we deliver our mission through continual research, development and innovation, including a large focus on robotics and artificial intelligence.

Health, safety, security, environment and quality

We’re committed to delivering our work with care for our people, communities and the environment. Safety is our number one priority and you can ensure we continually improve with the effective processes, procedures, training, tools and equipment needed to deliver our mission. You’ll have the opportunity to join one of our health, safety, security, environment or quality disciplines and make a real difference.

Waste management

Dealing with waste, both radioactive and non-radioactive, is an important part of decommissioning our sites. There are around 4 million cubic metres of waste to be recovered and treated to complete our programme and there are significant opportunities available to help shape and deliver our future plans and strategies to ensure that we undertake this work safely, sustainably and cost effectively.
