The Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality (EHSS&Q) Job Family supports the NDA group in operating safely, securely, responsibly and in line with relevant standards and requirements. Professionals within this family help protect people, assets, information, communities and the environment by identifying risks, promoting high standards and supporting informed decision-making across complex operational and project environments.
This job family plays a vital role in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, strengthening organisational resilience and ensuring work is delivered safely and effectively in some of the UK's most challenging environments.
Health and Safety teams play a critical role in helping the NDA group deliver its mission while protecting the wellbeing of employees, contractors, communities and the public.
They work closely with operational, engineering and project teams to ensure activities are planned, managed and delivered safely through effective risk management, safety leadership, assurance and continuous improvement.
Their work helps create positive safety cultures, supports learning from experience and ensures robust arrangements are in place to manage risk across complex nuclear operations, projects and decommissioning programmes.
As a Health and Safety Graduate, you will contribute to work that supports one of the UK's most complex and nationally important environmental missions.
Safety is at the heart of everything the NDA group does. Through your placements, you will gain experience helping teams identify, assess and manage risks, ensuring work is delivered safely across operational, engineering, project and decommissioning environments.
Working alongside experienced professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you may contribute to activities such as risk assessment, hazard identification, operational safety, human performance, assurance, incident investigation, operational learning and the development of effective control measures. You will develop an understanding of how health and safety support decision-making, influences behaviours and contributes to organisational performance.
You could gain exposure to a broad range of activities that strengthen safety culture, improve risk management and support continuous improvement across the NDA group. Through this experience, you will see how effective health and safety management enables organisations to deliver complex work safely, efficiently and responsibly.
This pathway will provide valuable insight into the challenges of managing risk within highly regulated environments, while helping you develop the skills needed to support safe and sustainable outcomes across major programmes and projects.

Various UK Locations
The NDA group operates from more than 30 sites and office locations across England, Scotland and Wales. Applicants must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to any of our sites to support business requirements and development opportunities across the programme.
Support is available to help graduates relocate where required.
Any offers will be conditional upon you providing proof of your right to work and passing security clearance and vetting checks.
Throughout your two-year journey on the NDA group graduates programme, you will be employed by Energus and complete two 12-month secondments within the NDA group.
At the end of the programme, we will support you to secure a role within the NDA group or within the wider nuclear sector, helping you take the next step in your career.

Face-to-face assessment centres will take place in early 2027. If you are invited to an assessment centre and are unable to attend, unfortunately you may be unable to complete the selection process.
