What we’re looking for?

We are looking for a graduate engineer to join us on 26th August 2024.

Based at our head office in Newport, our two-year Graduate Development Programme includes formal training and mentoring from experienced engineers and managers, and focuses on the achievement of Chartered Engineer status and is accredited by both the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

The first year of the programme will be spent in engineering placements in our head office and with our operational teams. This is followed by a year of developing engineering and managerial skills in an office-based environment, working on engineering projects.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Support with the delivery of the continual improvement in management of gas distribution assets to deliver a safe, reliable gas network at the least whole life cost.
  • Support the delivery of the annual maintenance plan and associated delivery programmes.
  • Work on the development of policy and procedures to maintain continued compliance with legislation through regulatory change.
  • Supporting the maintenance of asset records and improvement of the same through robust management of systems and processes, including audit

You’ll need to:

  • Hold a 2:2 or higher (or expect to achieve a 2:2 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other degree course accredited by the Institute of Gas Engineers and Manager, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, or the Institute of Engineering and Technology
  • Be self-motivated attitude and committed to achieving your chartership whilst building a career in engineering.
  • Have pride in your work and motivation to deliver high performance ensuring safe working practices.
  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
