As a Strategic Analyst, you’ll support Snap in making informed, data-driven decisions that align with our long-term goals and vision. You’ll play a key role in optimising credit decisions across the UK, using established, market-leading data science capabilities to drive performance and improve customer outcomes.
You’ll help develop and enhance data-led processes, delivering clear insight across the UK business. This role suits someone who is highly analytical, detail-focused and comfortable working in a fast-moving financial services environment, with a genuine interest in solving real business problems through data.
What you’ll be doing:
Create, monitor and own key KPIs across the customer lifecycle, with a focus on credit and profitability performance. This includes metrics such as application quality, first payment defaults, score distributions, merchant quality, pricing, representative APRs and collections performance.
Proactively deliver reporting, insight and recommendations that improve processes, tools and decision making, driving revenue, efficiency, cost savings and better customer outcomes.
Tackle real business problems by asking the right questions of data and processes, identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and influencing positive change.
Support credit strategy and change initiatives, such as embedding new data sources (for example, second bureau data or current account APIs) or implementing new challenger credit models and methodologies.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure analytical insight is practical, relevant and actionable.
Build strong working relationships across the UK business and with the US Data Science team, collaborating to deliver joined-up analytics and decisioning solutions.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data and analytics processes, standards and ways of working.
(This job description gives an overview of the role. From time to time, responsibilities may change, and we’ll provide appropriate training and support. You may also be asked to carry out other reasonable tasks in line with your skills and experience.)
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring:
A numerate degree or equivalent practical experience.
Some coding experience, ideally using tools such as SQL, Python or R (through study, projects or placements).
A strong interest in analytics and using data to support business decisions.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and continuously develop your skills.
It’s a bonus if you’ve also got:
Experience using analytics to deliver insight and recommendations that drive change in a business.
Experience working in financial services, e-commerce or the technology sector.
Skills we’re looking for
You’ll be confident with:
Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
Using technology confidently in your day-to-day work.
Building strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisation and time management skills.
Taking ownership of your work and collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
It’s a bonus if you also have experience with:
