David Shodeke, ConsultantMy passion for Structural Engineering was inspired by a documentary on the concept of constructing a transatlantic tunnel from London to New York. I developed an enthusiasm for problem solving and attended The University of Salford to study Civil Engineering. Since graduating in 2015, I have worked on a variety of projects ranging including the UK’s first low-carbon urban neighbourhood, bespoke art sculptures, railway structures, residential towers, and commercial projects. At Studio One I am enjoying the freedom to be creative in my work while pushing the boundaries of sustainable design. |

James Rous, EngineerI am currently studying for an MEng in Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester and undertake the role of Graduate Engineer at Studio One as part of my Industrial Placement year. I have always had a keen curiosity and passion for engineering, in particular how sustainable practices can more easily be integrated into the industry. The transition from university work to engineering consultancy has been an eye-opening experience, allowing me to test my limits in both engineering knowledge as well as job specific skills, such as client interaction, which continue to improve at an exponential rate through each project and through always being helpfully assisted by the team at Studio One. |

Mohammed Nasarullah, EngineerAfter graduating with a Master’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Bradford, I spent two years at a Civil Engineering consultancy in Manchester as part of the Highways and Transportation team before joining Studio One. At Studio One I have the opportunity to work on various types of projects to develop my competencies and support my route to Chartership. Outside of work I enjoy cycling, hiking and going to the gym regularly to maintain good health and a fresh mind. |

Karolina Brown, EngineerAfter graduating from the University of Manchester in 2017 with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering I joined a local engineering consultancy. However, after only one and a half years behind the desk, I decided to get my hands dirty and jump into the magical world of property development. Two and half years (and one baby) later, I happily reintroduced engineering design into my life and started working part-time at Studio One alongside my other commitments as an amateur property developer and a beginner mum. |

Luke Slack, EngineerI started my career in 2007 on the digital drawing board, otherwise known as AutoCAD. My role developed from the ground up (pun intended) from designing and detailing foundations for national house builders to conducting analysis and design of bespoke superstructures for residential, educational, commercial, and industrial developments. My sound understanding of Civil and Structural Engineering principles allows me to advise clients on practical, economical, and sustainable solutions from concept design to completion. Outside of the design studio, I enjoy good food, good drink, and good company. |

Andrew Hart, Senior TechnicianEnthusiastic. Check. Cheerful. Check. PGDip in BIM & Integrated Design. Check. I am a Senior BIM/CAD Technician and BIM Manager with over 20 years' experience. I use my engineering knowledge to develop design and details from concept through to construction, ensuring they are buildable, and present technical complexity in clear graphical form. And then there is real ale, Star Wars and Iron Maiden. |
