Contained within a site area of around 180,000 square metres (almost 2 million square feet) and located at Duncrue, Belfast WwTW was designed to treat a domestic and trade population equivalent of 290,000. The current works was built in 1991 to replace the original Victorian works which dates back to the early 1900s. Northern Ireland Water are investing nearly £10M in the works to ensure compliance and increase capacity.
Forming part of the £105m Belfast Leisure Transformation Programme, the Unique Selling Point of Avoniel is ‘outdoor sports and flexible indoor space’. The centre addresses the lack of outdoor pitch facilities in East Belfast by providing a range of 3G pitches catering from grassroots to IFA Intermediate standard with male, female, DDA, home & away team, and official’s changing facilities all catered for.
McAdam has successfully delivered over 500 new Social Housing dwellings across Northern Ireland for Apex Housing Association. Our in-house service from inception to completion includes Lead Designer Role (Architect), Project Management, Contract Administration and Principal Designer. We also manage and co-ordinate Civil/Structural Engineering; Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Landscape Architecture to provide a “one stop shop” multi-disciplinary service with single point responsibility provided by the McAdam PM.
McAdam, with support from Amphora, acted as civil and structural designers for BSG on this new service reservoir for Longwood, Co Meath. Uisce Éireann identified that this site had only 6 hours of storage for it's supply zone and that a new reservoir and treatment process was required at this site. The new 500m3 reinforced concrete reservoir was built on a constrained, sloping site with the design and build team working well to collaboratively address and integrate the new reservoir, pipework and MEICA equipment.
McAdam are acting as Architect, Information Manager and Principal Designer on this 10,000sqm state-of-the-art Factory. The Queen’s University-led Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) in Newtownabbey is one of the flagship projects of the Belfast Region City Deal (BRCD). This building will be a flagship facility of the project, this ‘factory of the future’, the AMIC will be a collaboration between academia and industry, based at Invest NI’s Global Point Business Park.
