Who we are

The British Coatings Federation (BCF) is the UK trade association representing the interests of the decorative paints, industrial and powder coatings, printing inks and wallcovering manufacturers in the UK. We have more than 140 full manufacturer members and another 100+ associate/supplier companies. Collectively, BCF members account for around 95% of UK sales of paints, coatings, printing inks and wallcoverings, making us the authoritative voice of the sector.

The BCF works on behalf of its members to:

• Increase knowledge of, and publicise, the contribution of the coatings sector to UK manufacturing and the wider UK economy.
• Represent the needs and concerns of the sector to Government to help create a better business environment to operate in.
• Provide leadership on issues of importance to the industry, from sustainability to skills.
• Offer technical and regulatory advice and training, and produce industry-wide statistics.
• Act as an interface between the industry and Government, other organisations, the media and the public.
• Promote the industry and support outreach, to attract the next generation of young, skilled talent from a more diverse section of society.
