Advanced Composites Engineering is a specialist UK manufacturer of high-performance composite components for demanding aerospace, defence, automotive, and advanced engineering applications.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our team on an initial three-month contract. Subject to performance and business requirements, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into permanent full-time employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve composite manufacturing processes.
  • Support new-product introduction, from drawing review through to production.
  • Prepare manufacturing instructions, technical documents and process specifications.
  • Assist with material selection, laminate design and engineering calculations.
  • Design or specify tooling, jigs and production aids.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and implement practical improvements.
  • Support trials, testing, validation and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Work with customers and suppliers on technical matters when required.

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Practical outlook and a genuine interest in manufacturing.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and work with close attention to detail.
  • Confidence to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team.
  • Willingness to learn about composite materials and manufacturing processes.

Previous experience with composites, CAD, engineering calculations or manufacturing would be beneficial, but is not essential. Appropriate training and support will be provided.
