About this Role

This role would be based at our Leeds site, where you will support the Materials Technology Laboratory and metallurgical processes and work on a variety of projects within the Laboratory. You will be supporting with the Laboratory to maintain its UKAS and QMS accreditation by prioritising quality at all times.

You will have the opportunity to assist with metallurgical investigations and the issuing of technical reports in relation to:

  • Casting process approvals
  • HIP
  • Heat Treatment
  • Welding Qualifications
  • Defect Analysis

You will complete technical audits of suppliers, sub-contractors, laboratory functions and manufacturing departments. You will be exposed to the investigation process for non-conformances and help the Business in identifying and implementing corrective actions. You will be driving our Human Factors philosophy and striving towards our goal of a Zero Defects site.

About You

  • To be studying for a relevant engineering degree with a strong predicted grade (2:1 or above)
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • A keen interest in investigating.
  • An eye for detail
  • A passion for driving continuous improvement
  • Strong IT Skills
  • To be a well-motivated, self-starter with tenacity, drive and enthusiasm
  • To have a structured, method driven approach to all work tasks.
  • A positive can-do attitude!

  • £25,800 Per Annum Salary
  • 38 hour working week
  • This opportunity is at our Leeds site, LS197AW
  • Working Hours
    • 7:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Tuesday
    • 7:30am - 4:15pm Wednesday - Thursday
    • 7:30am - 12pm Friday
