Where will you be working?
At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our Water Division, working on one of our current three frameworks with Scottish Water.
SR21 DV1: Capital works water and wastewater framework, delivered by the Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) Joint Venture. Primarily infrastructure and civil engineering project improving network resilient and protecting the environment.
SR21 DV2: Predominantly MEICA based capital maintenance framework on existing water and wastewater assets. Upgrade, refurbishment and high value capital maintenance projects
SR27 DV4: The integrated design and construction of civil and infrastructure projects within SW 12 years enterprise arrangement. Project and programme opportunities across the full capital investment programme.
Activities you may be involved in include:
CAD design work
Drafting scheme documents
Prepare technical drawings
Learn and comply with the requirements of the CWA Management Systems including Health & safety, Environmental and all other appropriate regulations.
Assist design engineers in implementing the project requirements to fully meet the client scope and specification in accordance with relevant standards.
Familiarise and work across supporting teams
Assist with surveys and setting out activities
Support and assist the planning, delivery of works on water and wastewater infrastructure projects
Familiarise with industry best practice and where appropriate identify innovation/best practice for consideration
Ensure all work aligns with company health, safety, environmental and quality policies
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will enrol onto the Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree (Design) Apprenticeship, with one of our partner universities.
Over 5 years, you will work towards a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, as well as working towards becoming qualified as an Incorporated Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
5 GCSE’s/National 5 in Maths, English, Science or IT
3 A-Levels/Highers at grade A*-C in Maths, Science or Technology subject or Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, a BTEC National Diploma in an engineering subject (90+ credits), or a relevant T-Level.
Great communication skills and a willingness to learn
A collaborative approach and a drive to make a difference
Naturally curious with attention to detail mindset.
Hold or working towards a full UK/EU driving licence and willingness to travel
