Who are Arm?

Founded 35 years ago by a dozen engineers in a converted barn in Cambridge, Arm has grown into a global technology company with more than 10,000 people worldwide. Our energy-efficient processor designs and software platforms power the computing at the heart of modern life.

What it's like to be an apprentice at Arm: Ayo's experience
Curious to know what an apprenticeship at Arm looks like? Ayo Giwa, former apprentice and graduate engineer, takes you behind the doors to share her experience, from what she's learned to her advice for anyone considering an apprenticeship in tech.

Apprenticeship Programme

Apprentices join Arm in a permanent role from day one, contributing to live projects while studying towards a recognised professional qualification. You’ll build practical engineering capability in real teams, supported by a dedicated manager, mentor and buddy.

Growth happens through building, testing and collaborating. You’ll apply your learning in real time, strengthening both your technical expertise and professional confidence. By the end of your apprenticeship, you won’t just understand how cutting-edge processors are developed, you’ll have helped build the technology.

Internships

Our internships are designed around meaningful engineering impact. Across 3, 6 or 12 months, you’ll work on meaningful engineering challenges spanning hardware, software and systems, whether that’s optimising code, contributing to IP development, or modelling the performance of AI and machine learning workloads. It’s an experience that builds technical depth, with 95% of interns agreeing they strengthened their skills and knowledge.

With interns across 19 locations, you join a global cohort from day one. From structured check-ins, Employee Resource Groups and shared celebrations such as National Intern Day help you build strong relationships and feel part of the team from the start.

Many interns continue their journey at Arm as graduates, building on the momentum and impact they created during their internship.

Graduate Programme

Graduates take ownership of work that powers billions of devices worldwide, contributing to the code, architecture and optimisation behind the next generation of computing. Their impact is tangible. From optimising code and improving system performance to contributing to patented innovation and presenting at our Global Graduate Conference (GGC), graduates see the real-world reach of what they build.

You’ll grow in an environment that balances ambitious expectations with clear support, where progression is based on readiness, not tenure. We review your compensation twice a year,  structured development ensuring your growth reflects the impact you create.

Beyond your role, you become part of a global graduate community supported by local networks and peer-led initiatives. Graduates receive an exclusive invitation to our Global Graduate Conference (GGC), where 300+ peers from around the world gather in the UK for a three-day immersive experience. Through keynote sessions, interactive panels, collaborative workshops and dedicated time with senior leaders, you’ll deepen your perspective, expand your global network and accelerate your development.

It’s where ambition accelerates, networks expand, and the bigger picture of the technology you shape becomes even clearer.
