Graduate Program - Engineering Pathways

Electronics, Computer Science, Software, Physics, Maths, Hardware, AI.

Job Overview

Arm technology powers billions of devices, from the hardware inside a chip to the software and tools that bring it to life. This opportunity brings together graduate roles across hardware engineering, software, AI, systems and technical product development.

Emerging Talent at Arm: What It’s Like to Work Here
Hear from engineers, graduates and leaders share their experiences working at Arm and building the technology that powers billions of devices around the world.

You will contribute to real products and technical projects while learning alongside experienced teams. Opportunities are aligned to your skills, interests and the needs of the business, helping you build expertise that supports the future of computing.

What you could be doing as a Graduate:

  • Designing hardware, from digital logic and circuits to the physical implementation of chips.
  • Verifying and validating hardware and software through simulation, testing and debugging.
  • Modelling how processors and systems perform, exploring opportunities to improve performance and power efficiency.
  • Developing software, firmware, drivers, compilers and engineering tools.
  • Applying AI, machine learning, data analysis and automation to engineering challenges.
  • Helping shape and deliver technical products and programmes through research, analysis, planning and collaboration.
  • Supporting partners and developers as they build products and applications using Arm technology, through research, coding, data analysis, planning and clear technical communication.

We are looking for individuals who:

Hold (or are on track to hold) a University degree by the programme start date. This can be a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant subjects such as Physics and Maths. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience.

Qualities that will help your application stand out:

Experience in every area isn't expected. We're interested in examples of:

  • Building, testing, debugging, analysing, modelling or improving something technical through coursework, research, internships, placements or personal projects.
  • Applying programming, hardware, AI/ML, data, simulation or other engineering tools to solve practical problems.
  • Using analysis or evidence to investigate problems, inform decisions or improve outcomes.
  • Learning unfamiliar technologies and adapting approaches to overcome challenges.
  • Collaborating with others and communicating technical findings effectively.

In Return

You’ll receive a starting salary of £48,000 (Bachelor level) or £49,000 (Master level), alongside a comprehensive rewards package. As you develop in role, you’ll have clear opportunities to progress within the salary range at Arm. With mid-year and year-end reviews, you’ll have two formal progression windows each year, recognising your growth.

You can also attend our “Grad-teach-Grads” workshops, guest speaker series, and social events to expand your knowledge. If you’d like to get more involved, you can join the Graduate Committee to further develop your planning, networking, and coordination skills.

You’ll be invited to our Global Graduate Conference — an annual event where graduates hear from executive leaders, guest speakers and build lasting connections.

Additional Information

Please note that relocation support is available for this role for domestic moves within the country. Visa sponsorship support is also available for candidates who require it.

We aim to review all applications no later than two weeks after the closing date. In peak periods there may be exceptions beyond this timeframe. We will do our best to keep you informed.

Recruitment Adjustments and Accommodations

At Arm, we want to build extraordinary teams. If you need an adjustment or an accommodation during the recruitment process, please email accommodations@arm.com. To note, by sending us the requested information, you consent to its use by Arm to arrange for appropriate accommodations.

All accommodation or adjustment requests will be treated with confidentiality, and information concerning these requests will only be disclosed as necessary to provide the accommodation. Although this is not an exhaustive list, examples of support include breaks between interviews, having documents read aloud, or office accessibility. Please email us about anything we can do to accommodate you during the recruitment process.

Hybrid Working

Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs.

Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)

Can I use AI to apply?

At Arm, we embrace the benefits AI can bring, including in recruitment. You may use AI to support your preparation, such as improving the clarity of written responses, practicing interview questions, or learning more about our industry. However, your application and interview responses must reflect your own thinking, experience, and abilities. We want to understand your authentic perspective, creativity, and approach to problem solving. As such, you may not use AI to complete assigned tasks as part of any assessments.
