This is more than a placement. It's an opportunity to learn from industry experts, build valuable professional networks, gain recognised credentials, and lay the foundations for a successful career in technology.

  • You will start your journey with some core training, teaching you the skills (including GenAI) that you’ll need to be a successful analyst at Accenture.
  • You will undergo some programme specific training to prepare you for your first client role. This can include delivery lifecycle, specific technologies and platforms and broader technology implementation approaches and methodologies.
  • You will get the opportunity to gain industry recognised accreditations such as Cloud and Technology Platform certifications.

You’ll get access to:

  • Core Analyst Training: Our core learning programme designed to help new joiners build confidence and skills across areas from delivery best practice, how to work with clients, and programme specific skills.
  • Project-based learning: You’ll work on real challenges for real clients and with support from experienced teams, gain confidence and knowledge on the job.
  • Technology Exposure: Depending on your specific project, you’ll get exposure to a wide range of different technologies and systems and receive training to understand how to use as well as help implement them.

What you’ll need

To join our Software Engineering industrial placement scheme, you’ll need to be studying at a UK university on a Bachelor’s degree or Integrated Masters that includes a credit-bearing placement year. We’re looking for students in the penultimate year studying Computer Science, IT, or a tech-related subject. We also welcome students from Maths, Science, or Engineering backgrounds. You should also be confident coding in at least one major programming language and excited to expand your skills even further.

Interns who thrive on this programme have:

  • Strong IT skills and hands-on experience designing or building applications whether through coursework, personal projects, or previous roles.
  • A genuine passion for technology and a constant drive to learn, grow, and improve.
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
  • Great communication and teamwork skills, along with the confidence to present your ideas clearly

If you're curious, motivated, and ready to make a real impact, this could be the perfect next step in your journey.

Your Development Path

Once you’ve completed your initial training, you’ll be ready to take on your first role. Project placements vary based on business needs, and we encourage interns to explore a wide range of opportunities to discover what excites them most. For this programme roles may typically include:

  • Full stack Engineer

By the end of the scheme, you’ll walk away with valuable experience, in-demand skills and hopefully, an offer to join us when you graduate.

To bring this to life, here are some examples from previous Software Engineering interns, who rejoined us on our graduate programme:

  • Mahezan completed his placement in 2023, received an offer, and rejoined our Software Engineering graduate programme in January 2025.
