Where Better Begins - Early Careers
A career at Sky is where better begins.

About this programme

Data that drives smarter decisions.

At Sky, Data Science is central to how we make decisions and connect with customers. Our teams deliver analytics that guide growth strategies, build tools for personalised experiences, and lead experimentation through test-and-learn approaches.

As an intern, you’ll learn from industry experts and get support to bring your ideas to life. Impress us, and you could secure a place on our Data Science graduate programme starting in September 2028.

What you’ll be doing

On our Data Science internship, you’ll work with stakeholders across the business to turn data into insight and action.

You’ll learn analytical techniques, apply predictive algorithms, and help deliver meaningful solutions — from building new data products to forecasting customer behaviour or unlocking the value of our content.

You’ll join one of our specialist teams in Sky Data:

  • Consumer – Help protect and grow our customer base by enabling smarter decisions and personalised experiences.
  • Content – Optimise how we produce, promote, and position content using viewing data.
  • Product & Operations – Improve internal systems and streamline processes to maximise value and performance.

What we’re looking for

The one essential requirement is that you're currently studying for an undergraduate degree in any subject, and in your penultimate year.

You might be studying maths, statistics, computer science, economics, or physics — or you may have shown your passion for data through personal or university projects. We’re looking for curiosity, drive, and ambition.

Skills that will help you thrive:

  • Logical, end-to-end thinking
  • Strong problem-solving, presentation, and IT skills
  • Experience with Python, SQL, R, SAS, or MATLAB
  • Understanding of machine learning (e.g. regression, decision trees, boosting)
  • Enjoy fast-paced, task-focused environments
  • Collaborative and curious about market trends

Right to work - Please be aware that Sky do not offer sponsorship for this role, employment is contingent on you having the valid right to work in the UK/Ireland for the full duration of the programme.

Following the internship, anyone who is selected for the Graduate programme offers will be conditional on having the full right to work in the UK/Ireland for the duration of the Graduate scheme.

Your application journey

Here’s what to expect, step by step:

Step 1 – Apply online

  • Tell us a bit about yourself — your details, your degree, and anything else you think we should know (like part-time jobs, volunteering, or cool projects you’ve worked on).
  • Once you hit submit, keep an eye on your inbox (and your junk folder!) — we’ll send you a link to start your digital assessments.
  • Please note, you can only apply to one programme per year.

Step 2 – Show us your skills

  • You’ll complete two online assessments designed to help us get to know you better — how you think, what motivates you, and how you might fit into the programme. The coding test includes basic SQL/Python — feel free to use resources during the test.
  • Don’t worry - you’ll get a chance to practice first, and we’ll send you tips to help you feel confident.
  • We understand that you might want to utilise AI to support your preparation for taking the assessments – understanding Sky etc. But we ask that you complete the assessments themselves without the assistance of AI.

Step 3 – Virtual Assessment Centre

  • If you make it to the final stage, we’ll invite you to a virtual assessment day. You’ll take part in a range of activities designed to show us how you think, solve problems, and work with others — all while getting a real feel for what it’s like to work in Data at Sky.
  • We'll let you know when to expect a decision once the assessment day has taken place.

Need Support? If you need us to make any adjustments to help you complete any stage of your application, let us know when you submit your application and someone from our Early Careers team will get in touch if we need more detail.

So why wait?

This is your chance to be part of something big. Our internship puts you right at the centre of the action — learning, growing, and helping make the magic of Sky happen every day. No matter your background, interests, or degree subject, there’s space here for your ideas and ambition.

A career at Sky is where better begins — and it starts with you.
