Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Our paid Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands-on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us.
You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.
As an engineer joining Arcadis, you will be given the opportunity to specialise within your chosen discipline of engineering and we ensure you obtain the appropriate experiences that you need to become a technical expert. Being an Engineer at Arcadis is about applying a human filter to all your technical expertise and training, and making an impact through innovation and creativity.
Ground Investigation - As part of the Ground Investigation Contracting discipline within our multi-award-winning Site Evaluation and Restoration team you will undertake site-based ground investigations to collect data on the nature and quality of ground conditions to support a large range of property and infrastructure development schemes.
As early as possible, you will be encouraged to be on site, shadowing experienced engineers in the field, on to supervising your own ground investigations, or acting as part of a team on larger projects, and you will be instrumental in delivering our projects to the high standards we uphold. In order to deliver your work safely and to the highest quality, you will be guided through obtaining relevant safety qualifications with the support of your line manager, as well as undertaking soil and rock logging training under the guidance of our experienced geologists.
Site work plays a huge part in your early-stage development in this area, and alongside this you will have the opportunity to produce reports, Health and Safety documentation and ensure that you develop a strong appreciation for the commercial and project planning aspects of ground investigation practice.
We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We believe everyone's contribution matters. It’s why we are pioneering a skills-based approach, where you can harness your unique experience and expertise to carve your career path and maximise the impact we can make together.
You’ll do meaningful work, and no matter what role, you’ll be helping to deliver sustainable solutions for a more prosperous planet. Make your mark, on your career, your colleagues, your clients, your life, and the world around you.
Together, we can create a lasting legacy.
