I am currently working as a Unit Support Process Engineer on the Catalytic Cracking Unit at Stanlow.
I joined Essar because the company offered a range of experiences in process engineering such as cracking, distillation, extraction, heat integration, product management, safety, environment and many more.
My average working day involves monitoring process conditions to ensure the operating window is not being exceeded, working with the other Production Unit disciplines to complete any plant changes required to improve or fix the plant and then carrying out any longer term safety or optimisation projects.
I have had three roles in my two and a half years at Essar, working in the future projects FEED office, as a Unit Support Process Engineer on Oil , Movements as well as on the Catalytic Cracking area. I've enjoyed many aspects of all the positions, working with a variety of disciplines like Operations, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electric Control and Instrumentation, Inspection and continue to learn every day.
In the future, I hope to increase my range of chemical engineering experience, working towards a team leader position. At Essar, there is also the opportunity to gain experience in additional departments such as Project Engineering and Economic Planning and Scheduling.
