Apprenticeship Programme;

During this programme, we'll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to succeed in your career.

As well as this, you’ll also gain a Degree Level 6/7 Apprenticeship as a Degree Chemist at the Manchester Metropolitan University.

With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices, you’ll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.

What you'll be doing;

  • Support the Commercial team and other departments by assisting - In the booking process, helping to control the scheduling of bulk and packaged waste, responding to customer requests and raising and scheduling work orders.
  • The Materials Specialists to raise new opportunities/quotations on Salesforce and be familiar with uploading lists of waste profiles into ‘quick loads’
  • The relationships with key customers to ensure the correct flow of paperwork and data and be able to transpose this into the format required to meet permit requirements.
  • Administrative tasks as required and designated by the Head of Commercial.
  • Work closely with the Laboratory to technically assess the suitability of all loads for incineration and approve them accordingly and help coordinate the invoicing of all Lab Analysis charges where appropriate
  • Build relationships with colleagues in the wider Hazardous Waste business to gain their trust and respect
  • Work closely with site operational staff to understand the constraints and react to ensure the needs of the business are maintained
  • Develop knowledge of Radioactive waste assessment to ensure corporate systems are updated to provide legally compliant documentation
  • Identify the risks associated with handling different types of hazardous wastes and the processes from which they evolve
  •  Raise and Report any near misses or safety concerns

What we're looking for;

  • A minimum of 3 A levels grade C or above and English, Maths and Science GCSE at grade 4/C or above
  • Full driving licence
