What you'll be doing;
Lead the day-to-day operation of a busy Maintenance Department, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Ensure compliance with engineering policies, standards, procedures and COMAH regulations
Manage maintenance priorities, including equipment breakdowns, defects, repairs and planned activities
Ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is scheduled and completed on time, using the site CMMS system (SAP/Infor) to raise, allocate and close work orders
Produce action plans and monthly engineering reports to monitor performance, outstanding work and key priorities
Carry out work area inspections and manage Permit to Work processes, including the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Provide cover for the Engineering Manager when required
Support the delivery of plant modifications and minor engineering projects
Specify and procure engineering services, equipment and spare parts, maintaining appropriate stock levels
Supervise contractors and ensure all work is completed safely, compliantly and in line with site requirements
Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate maintenance activity and communicate planned work, priorities and operational requirements
What we're looking for;
Essential
A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or demonstrable competence in a relevant engineering discipline
Significant experience in a mechanical, production or process engineering environment
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels and external contractors
Ability to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ideally SAP or Infor
