Projects

Below are some of the projects we have worked on...

The Shard

This included the first ever use of top-down construction for a core, the UK’s largest ever concrete pour, the UK’s first use of jump-lift construction, the first inclined hoist in the world, and the first crane to ever be supported on top of a slipform. Our vision was to maximise prefabrication and off-site assembly, including 80% of the mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services and notably, the 500-tonne, 66m-high steel spire made up of 800 pieces of glass and steel.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

By developing Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium, we have helped to create a major sports and entertainment landmark for visitors, the wider community, London and the UK. With a capacity of 62,000, the atmospheric bowl ensures spectators are closer to the pitch than at any other comparable ground in the UK, with uninterrupted views for everyone at any event.

Harwell Science and Innovation Campus

A hub of scientific innovation for over 75 years, the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus plays a pivotal role in driving UK research and development. In support of the campus’ ground-breaking work, Mace was appointed by the Southern Construction Framework in 2017 to deliver three cutting-edge research facilities - the Rosalind Franklin Institute, the National Satellite Test Facility and the Extreme Photonics Applications Centre.

Camden Lock Village

As part of the ongoing regeneration of London's vibrant Camden Town we were appointed in 2015 as the main contractor for the first phase of the Camden Lock Village development, which includes residential and high-quality public realm construction. When completed, the village will feature eight new buildings between three and nine storeys in height, housing a new canal-side market, cafes and restaurants, a cinema, 195 residential units, a food quarter and commercial space.

Television Centre

The iconic Television Centre in West London underwent a remarkable transformation, blending history with modernity. Mace collaborated with English Heritage to meticulously refurbish the Grade II-listed Helios building, courtyard, and Studio One's atomic dot wall, preserving their original charm. The redevelopment created a vibrant mixed-use destination, featuring 950 new homes, including 434 apartments in the first phase.

10 Gresham Street

10 Gresham Street is set to become one of London’s most sustainable office buildings in the heart of the city’s historic Square Mile. With Mace Fit Out and Retrofit team appointed as Principal Contractor, the development is undergoing Grade A refurbishment on behalf of CBRE Investment Management. Designed to go above and beyond to meet the demands and expectations of modern-day occupiers, the new workspace will unlock creativity, productivity, and high performance.
