From day one of working at NPL, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and keen to get me involved with the research being undertaken in my group. I was given training in the fundamentals of metrology as well as the more specialised technical knowledge that was required for my group.
I have uncovered a whole new area of physics that I was not previously aware of from my course, and I have enjoyed broadening my knowledge through the work that is assigned to me.
As well as this, NPL has been supporting my career development, with career-focused training sessions and the option to do outreach work. There are also networking events held by my department that I am invited to, allowing me to get to know other scientists within NPL. Overall it has been a fun and enriching experience.
