Elana Wong

Graduate Information Security Consultant

"The most enjoyable and rewarding aspect of my role is being given so much freedom and autonomy from so early on."

MSc Sociology and Global Change, University of Edinburgh

Why did you apply for a graduate role with Waterstons?

I applied because the company’s values and people first approach appealed to me as someone who strongly believes that everyone has a duty to help others.

I decided to apply for the Cyber role specifically as cyber security is such an increasingly complex global issue reaching into all aspects of our interconnected, digitalised society.

Describe the environment at Waterstons

Everyone is friendly and willing to help or answer questions you may have, and it’s easy to talk to anyone whether it’s your own teammate or the CEO.

How have Waterstons facilitated your learning and development?

Waterstons encourages you to take as many learning opportunities as possible, whether it’s studying for and taking exams, shadow on other projects or talk to people regarding their expertise.

I have gained qualifications in Foundation Information Security Management Principles, and as a Lead Implementer for ISO 22301 (Business Continuity).
