You'll develop practical experience in site coordination, health and safety management, programme delivery, quality assurance, subcontractor management, and client liaison. Working on fast-paced projects from pre-construction through to handover, you'll learn how fit-out projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects from site set-up through to completion and handover.
  • Assist the Site Management team in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities to achieve programme milestones.
  • Promote and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance on site.
  • Assist with the management of materials, plant, logistics, and site operations.
  • Monitor project progress and support the successful delivery of works within programme and budget requirements.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team.
  • Support project close-out activities, including snagging, testing and commissioning, and client handover.
  • Attend project meetings and site inspections while developing an understanding of fit-out construction methodologies and project delivery.

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Requirements:

Technical Competencies

Essential

  • Willingness to undertake a relevant Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Surveying, or a related built environment discipline.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Keen interest in construction, project delivery, and interior fit-out.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work across the UK and Republic of Ireland as project requirements dictate.

Desirable:

  • An appreciation of Health & Safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous exposure to the construction, fit-out, or refurbishment sector through work experience, placements, or a trade background.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • CSCS Card.

  • Negotiation: Ability to negotiate with both subcontractors and representatives of the Employer to ensure all contractual rights and obligations are realised and protected.

In addition, a structured, mentored training programme, aligned to a recognised professional qualification, will set you on the pathway to chartership.
