As an Assistant Building Services Manager, you will play an important role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design and construction packages. Working alongside experienced Building Services Managers and project teams, you will gain valuable exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

Job Description:

Locations: London, Midlands, Northwest England and Northern Ireland

The Assistant Building Services Manager will support the Building Services team across a range of activities from tender stage through to project completion and aftercare.

Responsibilities include:

Assist with reviewing mechanical and electrical designs during pre-construction and construction stages to ensure technical compliance and buildability.
Support the coordination and management of MEP design information across projects.
Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, specialist subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Assist project teams in managing the quality and coordination of MEP installations on site.
Provide technical support to site management teams in resolving building services issues during construction.
Work closely with construction teams to ensure building structures and programmes align with MEP installation requirements.
Review technical submissions, requests for information (RFIs), and design documentation from supply chain partners.
Support the development and implementation of project commissioning plans.
Assist with reviewing inspection and test plans for MEP installations.
Support the coordination of installation, testing and commissioning programmes to ensure alignment with overall project schedules.
Assist in managing the commissioning process and client training activities prior to project handover.
Contribute to project reporting, programme monitoring and technical problem-solving activities.

Technical Competencies 

Essential

Degree qualified, or due to graduate in 2027, in Architectural Technology or a related built environment discipline with a strong technical and construction focus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Right to work in the UK.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel and work across project locations throughout the UK.

Desirable:

Previous construction industry experience through placements, internships, summer placements or part-time employment.
Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
Awareness of construction project delivery processes and building regulations.
Knowledge of BIM and digital construction technologies.
