Lumacron Technology Ltd. is a rapidly expanding, innovative product company serving a worldwide customer base in the optical communications marketplace. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will be part of a highly skilled team delivering products to the telecom/datacom monitoring, test/measurement and transport segments.

Lumacron is looking for an FPGA Design Engineer to work closely with firmware and verification teams during specification, development, integration and verification phases of FPGA subsystems that form the heart of the company’s products.

Role Description

  • Qualified to degree level in Engineering or equivalent discipline. 

Experience of the following;

FPGA Design Flow and FPGA Design Challenges (requirement, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, P&R, board level integration and verification).
  • Developing FPGA designs and subsystems.
  • Design with Xilinx and Altera FPGA and CPLD devices.

  • Using VHDL/Verilog HDL languages for FPGA design.

  • Good knowledge about Digital Design Basics is required.

  • Designing for high-speed optical interfaces would be a plus.

  • Designing for high-speed SERDES interfaces (up to 28G) would be a plus.
  • Use of typical lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, PSUs, etc.).

  • Knowledge of revision control systems (Subversion).

Additional Beneficial Skills

  • Specific experience of Telecommunication/Data Communication hardware products. 

  • Knowledge of Telecoms Framing structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH) would be helpful, as would 
knowledge of packet (Ethernet) structures.
