We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

At Centrica, we're not just adapting to the future of energy, we're shaping it – and we’re looking for curious minds, fresh perspectives, and ambitious graduates to help us make it happen.

As a People Graduate, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, solve real business challenges and make an impact from day one.

You'll gain hands-on experience, develop the skills needed for your future career and build a network that will support you throughout your journey.

Why People?

Our people are at the heart of how Centrica succeeds. From shaping the future of work to building an inclusive, high-performing organisation, our People teams help colleagues thrive while enabling our business to perform at its best.

Across the two-year programme, you could gain experience in areas such as People Business Partnering, Talent, Reward, Employee Relations, Organisational Design, Change and People Analytics.

Whatever path you follow, you'll develop skills in stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision making and project delivery, while helping create better experiences for our colleagues and supporting the future of Centrica. Alongside your role, you will also have the opportunity to work towards a professional CIPD qualification.

Support to help you thrive

We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.

With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations, and parts of our business.

What we need from you:

  • Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Master's)
  • Have the right to work in the UK, prior to commencing work
  • Curious, proactive and keen to learn
  • Willingness to travel and relocate between placements where required
  • Available to start in September 2027

Here’s what’s in it for you:

  • Starting salary of £32,000 per annum
  • You'll be eligible for our annual bonus scheme and a profit-based share incentive plan
  • A two-year programme, featuring three rotational placements across different areas of our People Team
  • Opportunity to work towards a professional CIPD qualification
  • Structured support and development throughout the programme
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and build your network
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution while developing skills that will support your future career

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
