Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

At Centrica, we're not just adapting to the future of energy, we're shaping it – and we’re looking for curious minds, fresh perspectives, and ambitious graduates to help us make it happen.

As a Procurement Intern, you'll spend a year gaining hands-on experience and working on meaningful projects that contribute to real business outcomes.

From day one, you'll be part of the team, tackling genuine challenges and building valuable technical and professional skills. It's an opportunity to put your learning into practice, develop future-ready skills and gain insight into where a career in Procurement could take you.

Why Procurement?

Procurement plays a critical role in how Centrica delivers for our customers and grows our business. From securing the goods, services and technologies we need to building strong supplier partnerships, our teams help us make smart commercial decisions and create long-term value.

During your Year in Industry, you’ll gain hands-on experience in an area such as strategic sourcing, supplier and contract management, supply chain, sustainability or commercial risk.

You’ll contribute to real business priorities, work with colleagues and suppliers, and develop practical skills in commercial thinking, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving.

Along the way, you’ll build your understanding of how Procurement balances value, quality, sustainability, resilience and risk, while discovering where a future career in Procurement could take you.

Support to help you thrive

We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.

With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate and intern programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations and parts of our business.

What we need from you:

  • Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)
  • Have the right to work in the UK, prior to commencing work
  • Curious, proactive and keen to learn
  • Willingness to travel and relocate where required
  • Available to start in June 2027

Here’s what’s in it for you:

  • Annual Salary of £24,539.00
  • 12-months hands-on experience working in a dedicated area of the Procurement Team
  • Structured support and development throughout your placement
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and build your network
  • The chance to make a meaningful contribution while developing skills that will support your future career

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
