We want to unlock your potential and help you achieve your career goals.
At HSF Kramer, you’ll be given the opportunity to make a difference from day one. We believe that talented people learn best by doing. But we understand that you will need the right blend of support and structured learning to thrive.
Your growth will define our success as a firm. That’s why we’ve kept it front of mind when designing our trainee programme.
Your growth and development will be tailored to your personal and professional goals. Every trainee associate here enjoys the vital combination of on-the-job training, learning from colleagues and structured growth experiences. Everything you do will help you become a better lawyer and as you grow with us, you’ll take more ownership over your development to shape it and achieve your full potential.
Our learning framework is guided by the principle that we learn primarily through experience, supported by lessons from others and time spent on structured development. Seeking new experiences in your work is the best way to expand your knowledge and skills. You’ll also learn from your peers, mentors, colleagues and clients. Finally, you’ll be encouraged to undergo structured training and courses tailored to your goals and ambitions.
From day one, you’ll share an office and be supervised by a senior associate or partner who will support your professional and personal development. You’ll also have two supervisors providing you with regular feedback throughout your seat and giving holistic on-the-job support. This means you’re always working with a variety of people, broadening the ways of working and the range of expertise you can draw on.
You’ll also have a partner mentor to offer advice on making the most out of the Trainee Associate Programme and a dedicated Trainee HR team who will meet with you regularly and always be by your side as a trainee associate.
Our belief in learning by doing isn’t theoretical. We’ve designed our programme to expose you to as broad a range of challenges and experiences as possible. We’re one of the few firms that allow you to select your seat preferences ahead of each rotation meaning you can tailor the programme as your interests develop.
You’ll rotate through four, six-month seats and pick up important legal skills and essential sector knowledge in each. Every year, we run around 55 secondment opportunities for our clients and our overseas offices in Europe, Asia and Australia. This gives our trainee associates the chance to build their global network and develop the client-focused outlook all successful lawyers need.
We want to unlock your potential and help you achieve your career goals. We’ve got a culture of mutual support and mentoring: coaching and sponsorship will be a vital part of how you grow with us. Mentoring can be an ongoing process that will help you learn how colleagues successfully navigated their careers and help you build relationships.
Sponsoring involves a relationship with a senior colleague who will advocate for you at certain stages in your career, help you identify opportunities and help you achieve your development and business objectives.
Alongside an expansive range of content, you’ll have access to a wealth of online resources including our learning hub, where you can organise, schedule and manage all aspects of your learning and development. We also provide extensive formal learning to keep you on top of regulatory environments and we embed D&I at every stage of learning with diverse contributors and a focus on inclusive leadership.
