Nottingham Physics Society (PhysSoc)

PhysSoc is an active society which aims to help students get the most out of their time at University, and to enjoy it! We also work with the School of Physics to put on talks, careers events and a mentoring scheme. We focus on running social events such as quizzes, nights out, and our famous trip to Playzone Lincoln. We offer two trips abroad every year, and give our members the chance to take part in 4 different sports teams with our society.

Project Lost Balloon

In 2014 we launched a space balloon with a camera mounted on it. This gained lots of media attention (e.g. BBC as we lost track of it! Someone found our balloon along the south coast but unfortunately it had sustained too much water damage for us to recover the images on the SD card.
