The Engineering Society at Solent is a student-run society which aims to bridge the gap between industry and academic studies through our project development, career talks and facility tours.
We ensure students may create close bonds with future employers whilst providing industry exposure. Additionally, social events are run alongside our engineering-based projects all year round.
Through the society students are exposed to the Baxter robot, running informative and fun projects, coding the Baxter to perform various tasks, these tasks are then to be performed at certain events such as open days.
The first-year mechanics team took place in the inter-university competition this year having to build a prototype line launcher and placing third in presentation. This is a competition we offer to our first-year mechanics as an option to compete in.
Workshop & 3D printing are just images of the facilities we make use of as a society to assist in our projects.
Portable battery design: this is the CAD model of our portable solar charged power bank.
