KCL Space, founded in 2017, is a student-run society which comes under the Department of Physics. The aim of KCL Space is to provide its members with opportunities to engage in space-related activities, organised both within the college and internationally.
KCL Space also works to bridge the gap between the niche that is the space industry and the students aspiring to become part of it. KCL Space works towards closing this gap through its academic support, mentoring sessions and networking events.
KCL Space is a branch of the United Kingdom Students for Exploration and Development of Space (UKSEDS) and our members regularly volunteer with the organisation.
The society also has strong links with the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAS) and LaunchLink, with the aim of providing a platform for collaborations on projects.
Our Rocketry division began in 2018-19 academic year. We were able to launch some small, but exciting, rockets at Dulwich.
After this, we wanted to go bigger! Larger rockets were built, but unfortunately due to weather and logistical issues, these have not yet been launched.
We are excited to grow and we would love to hear from you if you would like to join up, have ideas, or any questions, please click one of the links below.
