Staffs Women in STEM (SWIS)

We are a group striving to educate and spread awareness of gender imbalances in STEM-related subjects.

We aim to foster a supportive and empowering environment encouraging women to excel in STEM disciplines, and to create a vibrant space where women in STEM can connect, collaborate, and thrive throughout their academic and professional journeys.

We won the "Phoenix Award 2024" for reviving a society that had been dormant since 2018, bringing it back to life in February 2024.
We find ways to advocate for women in STEM and encourage girls into getting into STEM subjects.
SWIS offers social events, workshops, career trips and resources throughout the academic year.
This society was founded in November 2023 and established in January 2024.
