Leeds University Union (LUU) MedTech Society

The purpose of this society is to foster collaboration among engineers, mathematicians, scientists, healthcare professionals, and entrepreneurs. Universities across the UK, including Imperial College London, KCL, UCL, and Lancaster, each have their own MedTech societies, and it is high time for Leeds to establish its own.

The LUU MedTech Society would stand out as a truly unique entity, attracting students from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, all united by the vast potential of the MedTech industry.

More about our Society

This society would offer undergraduates the support they need to refine their skills, provide opportunities that align with their ambitions, and create a community where they can feel a true sense of belonging. To find a society with such promise would be a rare and valuable endeavour, as it fosters collaboration and curiosity among a diverse group of individuals.

PhD students would have the chance to share their expertise with younger undergraduates through initiatives like the ‘MedTech Mentors’ programme. Third and fourth-year undergraduates could host workshops alongside professors, helping others develop essential skills, such as coding, through hands-on learning.

Women in MedTech would have the opportunity to come together, celebrate the significant achievements of women in MedTech, and inspire others to pursue their scientific and technological passions. Additionally, "MedTech Mends" would raise awareness about inclusivity and diversity within the MedTech field, with activities designed to promote varied engagement and ensure that everyone feels involved.
