The AI Robotics Society is a student-led community based at Clifton Campus, under the Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) and the Department of Computer Science.
We welcome anyone interested in artificial intelligence, robotics, and emerging technologies - whether you’re completely new to the field or already experienced. Our goal is to provide a space for students to learn, experiment, and create through hands-on projects and workshops.
Since our official launch in January 2025, we’ve hosted beginner Arduino workshops and developed a range of exciting projects, including an AI Facial Recognition Following Robot and other hands-on Arduino builds designed by our members.
We usually hold our weekly sessions on Wednesdays (1–6 PM) and Fridays (3–6 PM) at Clifton Campus, where members can drop in anytime to work on projects, learn new skills, or collaborate with others.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand our workshops, attend more expos, and build stronger connections with other societies and industry partners.
Build. Learn. Innovate.

DSEI 2025 – London (12 September 2025)We attended DSEI UK 2025 at ExCeL London - one of the world’s largest defence and security expos! Highlights included exploring a Belgian Navy ship, meeting robotics companies, trying a VR police simulator, and seeing the Boston Dynamics robot in action. It was an inspiring trip that gave our members real insight into robotics applications in industry. |

Beyond our projects, we also focus on building a close and supportive community within the society. We love bringing our members together outside of workshops to relax, socialise, and form real connections.
Bowling NightA fun evening where members competed in teams and celebrated strikes (and the occasional gutter ball). |

Spoons NightA relaxed social at Wetherspoons, giving new and returning members a chance to unwind and get to know each other. |

Both events were a huge success and helped strengthen our growing community - it’s been great seeing friendships form and new members settle in so quickly.
