Manchester Product Management Society

Fresh from the city of bees, Manchester.

We are your starting point for the world of Product Management!

We are a student-run society at the University of Manchester that helps students discover what Product Management really is.

We bridge students with industry professionals through events, seminars, and practical workshops. We make the learning of product management to be accessible and fun. Our goal is to support students - no matter their background - to build confidence, gain skills, and find their path in global tech and product careers.

The facts
Our co-founders are postgraduate students who have previously worked in product management roles. They wanted to share their passion for product management with their peers.
In the 25/26 term, we covered the whole product lifecycle management with students: from product analytics to testing prototypes.
We have a diverse professional network. We want to collaborate with as many people as possible and connect them to our student members.
Our student members are very diverse, with many different nationalities and work experiences, from undergraduates to postgraduates.

Workshop: Design Thinking for PM

Date:

Wednesday, 13th May 2026

Summary:

Many people came to the workshop with a product idea in mind but no clear path to turning it into something people could actually use.

During the session, participants explored how to go from “I have an idea” to building a working prototype in just one afternoon.

The Design Thinking for Product Managers: Hands-On Prototyping & Vibe-Coding Workshop gave attendees a practical, beginner-friendly introduction to turning ideas into products using vibe-coding.

No coding experience was needed.

Participants brought their laptops, their curiosity, and one product idea they wanted to explore - and left with hands-on experience building and prototyping their concepts.
