Our Industrial Placements programme is structured to bring out the very best in you and give you the opportunity to excel in a commercial, engineering or environmental sciences role, working alongside the very best people in the business.
You will be trusted with individual responsibility from day one in a complex and demanding role, primarily within Risk, Analytics, Finance, Project Engineering or our Health, Environment & Communities (HSEC) department. This approach equips our Industrial Placements with the highest levels of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude - the key ingredients for a successful career with Glencore.

Projects are predominantly based in Africa & Brazil and comprise a mix of greenfield and brownfield work scopes associated with oil/gas production, storage, production, including maintenance and day-to-day operational support.
The role entails exposure to day to day project support in an oil production environment, with the benefit of being involved from an early phase right through to commissioning. Candidates must be driven and focussed, able to communicate with team members or cross business departments, with the aim of ultimately becoming a well-rounded project engineer.
Our HSEC and ERM team provides functional support to our businesses and assets globally, ensuring that operations are delivered in a safe, reliable and responsible manner, and risks are understood and managed effectively. At the heart of what we do is a systematic approach to managing activities, following a classical plan – do – check – act cycle, covering all functional areas of health, safety, environment and communities.
The team is involved across the full lifecycle, and is engaged in supporting all levels in the business, from front line operations to senior level governance., offering an invaluable insight into all aspects of the business.
We are looking for undergraduate university students who are completing a degree with a year in industry.
Numerical aptitude is important, as is the ability to work well in a team and to think and act independently. We look for people with language skills and cultural awareness as diversity is integral to our business.
