Eva Lawther

Former Intern Design Engineer

If you had 5 minutes to sell a graduate Job at Slipstream Design to someone what would you say?

The benefit of working for an SME (small-medium enterprise) is that you are given so many chances to learn something new, you are part of a team working for a common purpose, this means you will get to see (and work on) a whole R&D system, be involved in business development, and not be chained to one repetitive task. If you’re like me, this is your opportunity to work in a sector that you may not have considered, which is completely new and exciting.

What makes you proud to work at Slipstream Design?

The sense of achievement and trust that comes with taking ownership of your section (be it hardware or software). I could never before say that a Graphical User Interface (GUI)I coded was interfacing with FPGA code and running on a high end system on chip hardware platform for a 5G application.

What have you learned since joining Slipstream Design? Any specific training you've received?

Pretty much everything I do on a day-to-day basis (other than the fundamentals and logic of coding and problem-solving) I have learned on the job. Coming from a pure mathematical background, every day has been an opportunity to learn about applying new technology or how a process works.

I now have invaluable real-world experience working with state-of-the-art radio frequency devices alongside some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the field. This hands-on experience has not only deepened my understanding of RF technology but honed my ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
