Rail Engineering
We are lead consultants in the rail sector and well versed in the assurance of Network Rail and London Underground projects. Members of our rail team have undertaken Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) roles for Network Rail that enables them to sign off assurance documents and engineering management plans.
In addition to our in-house skills we work collaboratively with our trusted supply chain to provide OLE, Track, Signals, Telecommunication and Electrical capabilities. VEDA are able to deliver the large multi-disciplinary projects, whilst maintaining our high standards and personal approach.
Refurbishment
Whether it be an existing building, foundation or a bridge our team have extensive experience in the reuse of existing assets and the knowledge to strengthen and extend the design life of such structures.
We will provide advice on the most commercially viable and practical design solution that could also include demolition and replacement if the future design life cannot be guaranteed or the testing is to be prohibitively expensive.
Structural Engineering
The Structural Engineering team at VEDA Associates provides clients with a highly professional structural engineering consultancy service. We work closely and cooperatively with our clients and invest time in understanding our clients’ objectives.

Structural Surveys and Assessments
VEDA’s field engineers are well equipped to conduct detail examinations and analyse structural and civil engineering assets of all ages to determine residual service life.
We are employed by both maintenance and reactive works contractors to undertake both visual and detail examinations of buildings and rail structures. On the emergency response works our engineers will analyse the structure and provide a temporary works solution to prevent progressive failure and where possible maintain the use of the structure until a permanent solution is installed.
Temporary Works
VEDA Associates have a dedicated temporary works team that are employed by National Contractors to act as their temporary works designer. Our temporary works expertise includes; hoardings for highways and rail environments, ground support, façade retention, propping & hydraulic jacking of bridges and structures, pipe jacking & thrust walls, damming & over-pumping, tower and mobile crane lifts, and automated monitoring systems.
We work closely with our client to understand the construction methodology, site and project constraints to develop an innovative temporary work solution that utilises where appropriate the latest techniques, products and machinery.
